Radar sensors have unique capability to measure the distance of moving target, and eliminate signals from "innocent" moving targets such as vehicle traffic on roads near the border. Such radars include the short range perimeter sensor “Minder” (EL/M-2128) installed on the fence to detect movement at ranges of 500 meters from the fens. The EL/M-2129 is capable of operation at medium ranges, up to 15 kilometers. These radar sensors can be integrated with Tamam electro optical payload (POP-200) to provide positive target identification. Extended range coverage is enabled by the EL/M-2140 can detect targets and movement at 40km rage. Additional coverage against low flying aircraft, helicopters and even parafoils can be introduced with the EL/M-2106.
