Predator XP Expands into New Markets
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI) is offering a new export version of the Predator unmanned aerial system. The export of the standard RQ-1 Predator system has been limited by U.S. Government export restrictions, to select NATO members and allied nations. To meet the export potential of the system GA-ASI has recently expanded its aircraft portfolio to offer an export version of the Predator UAS – designated Predator XP. (Read More...)


Israel’s Heron TP Could Support French Strategic Intelligence Operations by 2012
Dassault is proposing to support the French Ministry of Defense Intelligence gathering operations with Heron TP Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to be leased from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Dassault considers the Israeli UAV as suitable to answer the urgent operational requirements of the French armed forces. With a maximum take-off weight of over 4,000kg (8,820lb), Heron TP is capable of carrying large-volume multiple payloads, fly at an altitude above 45,000ft (13,700m) and sustain missions spanning over several days without landing. Jubilant, Aeronautics Team to Address India’s Growing Need for UAVs
Jubilant Bhartia Group and Israel’s Aeronautics Defense Systems have recently formed a joint venture company addressing the growing need for unmanned aerial systems and aerostat systems in India. Aeronautics will hold 26% stake in the Bangalore based JV called ‘Jubilant Aeronautics’. The JV targets both the civil and defense sectors in India. (Read More...)

Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest defense company is a private holding company publicly traded in New York (NASDAQ) and Tel Aviv stock exchanges has entered the main weapons platforms market as a prime contractor. Elbit Systems Performs Joint Flight Missions of Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 UAV’s
Elbit Systems announced that it successfully performed a series of joint flight missions of its Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The two different UAS were controlled and operated from the same universal ground control station (UGCS), transmitting the gathered imagery, ELINT and COMINT to their station operators, while using different communications systems. More about the Beast – RQ-170 Sentinel Show Again at Kandahar
New pictures published today on the Secret Projects forum provide a better view of the Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel operating from the Kandahar airfield in Afghanistan. Bill Sweetman of Aviation Week, who gave the RQ-170 the nickname ‘The Beast’, estimate the RQ-170 size to match the MQ-9A Reaper, and assumes the two aircraft carry a similar payload, although the ‘Beast’ would have shorter mission endurance given its thirsty jet propulsion. Saab AB has delivered to Dassault the front and central fuselage sections of the European UCAV technology demonstrator nEUROn. Dassault Aviation the Prime contractor for the nEROn. As subassemblies and parts of the unmanned aircraft are arriving at Istres, nEUROn program is entering the critical phase of assembly and integration of the final air vehicle. (Read More...)

Singaporean Searchers on a Mission in Afghanistan
The Singaporean troops will stay in Afghanistan until the end of 2011 supporting ISAF operations in the country. The deployments were supposed to have ended by April 2011 But Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean announced their mission will be extended. Since 2007 Singapore has deployed several military teams to Afghanistan, providing medical assistance, training and reconnaissance and surveillance in support of the International Security Afghanistan Force (ISAF).
