L3 Delivers 7th Project Liberty MC-12W ISR Aircraft

The first seven aircraft of 'Phase 1' of Project Liberty Aircrat (LPA) have been delivered. Under LPA program awarded by the US Air Force on September 2008, L-3 Mission Integration will modify a total of 37 Air Force MC-12Ws with sensor packages and communications systems. (Read more...)

British MOD Calls for Rapid Replacement for Scimitar CVR(T)

BAE Systems Global Combat Systems and General Dynamics (UK) are the two companies invited by the British Ministry of Defence to team with the MOD to develop a new armored vehicle for the British Army. The program is part of the Future Rapid Effect System Specialist Vehicle (FRES SV), intended to field reconnaissance and reconnaissance support variants that will replace the existing Scimitar and Spartan vehicles now on operations in Afghanistan. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) announced plans to acquire Gyrocam Systems, a developer of gyro-stabalized optical surveillance systems. Lockheed Martin plans to manage Gyrocam under its Missiles and Fire Control business unit.
