| The
US Marine Corps announced yesterday the release of new orders
worth $1.2 billion, for a total of 2,288 new Mine Resistant,
Ambush Protected (MRAP) armored vehicles destined for delivery
by the end of April 2008.

| Three
suppliers are sharing this lot, including International Military
and Government (IMG), Force Protection Industries and BAE Systems.
IMG will deliver 1,000 Category I MaxxPro vehicles for $509
million, Force protection Industries Inc, will deliver 533 Category
I (Cougar 4x4) vehicles and 247 larger 6x6 Class II variants
for $376 million. BAE Systems Land & Armaments will supply
399 Category II and 112 ambulance configured RG-33 MRAP variants
to fulfill a $278 million order. BAE Systems also received another
$44 million order for the delivery of 89 unspecified Category
I MRAP variants (RG-31Mod 5?) , to be used by the US Special
Operations Command. These vehicles are expected for delivery
by March 2008.
