RAFAEL's Golan Proposed to
the US Marine Corps |
|
RAFAEL is testing the new 15 ton
Golan wheeled armored
vehicle, eyeing future IDF and USMC requirements for heavy armored vehicles,
designed for asymmetric and urban warfare. RAFAEL is
teamed with US based PVI company and the Merkava program Office (Mantak).
IMI is developing a similar vehicle based on a commercial
off-road 4x4 Tatra chassis, dubbed
Wildcat, for similar
applications. |

Boeing to demonstrate Focused
Lethality for SDB |
|
Boeing is developing a Focused Lethality Munition
warhead for the Small Diameter Bomb to improve the Air Forces'
operational flexibility attacking targets in a dense urban
environment. The new warhead employs multi-phase blast explosive
and a composite carbon fiber warhead case, allowing for pinpoint
strikes with low collateral damage. |

New Kinetic
Missile Tested against an Urban Target |
|
Lockheed Martin performed a second successful test
of the Compact Kinetic Energy Missile (CKEM), against a
reinforced urban structure. The next two tests scheduled for
this year will demonstrate the weapon's ability to defeat
enhanced reactive armor. The US Army identified these capability
gaps for the Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the Stryker
Brigade Combat Team. These gaps could be bridged by future
deployment of CKEM at both close extended ranges. |

Raytheon delivered the US Air Force the latest
version active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar system.
Following the integration on the F-15 at Boeing's St. Louis
facility, the program will begin its final phase of

Laying the Foundation for the International Blackhawk |
|
PZL Mielec will become the assembly center for the
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. International BlackHawk program.
Sikorsky will make a strategic investment in PZL Mielec to
expand its manufacturing capabilities, introducing factory
improvements and tooling to support assembly of various
helicopters, including the International BLACK HAWK. The MOU
anticipates initial component deliveries in 2008 and
International BLACK HAWK deliveries beginning in 2010, enabling
Sikorsky to focus primarily on the domestic US market. |
