SPADICO
Artillery Trajectory Correction System
(GIAT)
|
Improvement of the accuracy of artillery fire can also
be achieved by the use of course correction techniques, implementing
new braking mechanisms. Such an application is SPADICO fuse
developed under a DGA program by GIAT, TDA Armament and IN-SNEC as
an upgrade for in-service artillery shells. The system is built into
the fuse and is composed of three discs air-brake and associated
electronics. SPADICO designed to improve by x4 the hit accuracy, by
adjusting the actual ballistic trajectory of the specific shell to
match the theoretical trajectory which is used to compute the firing
parameters.
